Again, unknown number of students have been abducted in a Federal Government College in Yauri, Kebbi State.
It’s unclear how many are males and females and staff members
This time, unlike the kidnappings I have covered from Kankara in Katsina, to Kagara in Niger, then Jangebe in Zamfara and Afaka in Kaduna- this one takes a totally new dimension. The school is properly fenced( high fence) with barbed wires, the school has over 20 armed security personnel on ground on a daily. Yet, armed bandits overpowered personnel and took away these people in BROAD DAYLIGHT
If you live in Nigeria or a Nigerian, your worry about the nation is officially legit.
As at this minute, we cannot tell you how many are in captivity, their whereabouts, the demands of the bandits, etc. We just know that yet another batch of innocent people who had come to seek education, who are two weeks away from their final exams, are somewhere in the bush in conditions that must be traumatic and unsafe.
From December to date, I have covered 5 different schools hit by kidnappings/banditry attacks in the North of Nigeria, all with heart wrenching stories
My question remains how audacious can these elements be? What is fueling these attacks and with such audacity?
