Over 18 million children are out of school in Nigeria-UNICEF

Reading Time: < 1 minute

My latest on the problem of out-of-school children in Nigeria.

The figures have hit over 18 million. 60 percent are girls. It sadly translates to a whooping 10 million girls out of school- that is more than the population of countries like Singapore or Liberia. You heard that right!

UNICEF attributes this rising figures to insecurity, insurgency, mass abduction of students and attacks on school. If these don’t stop, the figures will continue to increase.

In this report, Ben-Bem Goong, the ministry of education’s director press and public relations said one of the measures put in place by the government is the school feeding measure🙄

“Children will be naturally drawn to where they are given good food”… he said.

Eddy Micah Jnr did ask him if he (Ben) believes those measures are working?. Sigh!

Just watch

And having said that, vote right, come 2023
