Lighting Each Other’s Candle While We Live

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Here pictured is an amazing human and dear friend of mine Felicity Ezewuike. An incredibly talented News Anchor as well. But I am not about to speak about her excellence in TV presentation but the magnitude of her willing and kind spirit

Last year, I took on a very huge project-one that scared me myself. But I held on to the faith that everything I have ever put my hands on, works out. However, along the line, there were days/weeks of immense pressure and very intense, palpable stress and frustrations. There were so many, many, silent, lone days and moments of ugly tears too while on that project.

But one person who literally held my hands and trusted me even more than I trusted that the project WILL BE COMPLETED was Felicity Ezewuike .

One of those dark days she said to me “even if it means putting my resources into this, I will. Not on my watch will this project stop”. I cried so hard after that phone call. And true to it, at some point, I needed support after exhausting all possible options. I rang her and the very same day, she came through.

At every stage of the project, she will remind me that it can’t stop and pledged her support. She did till the very end. So many voice notes of “you’ve got this nne, you will complete it, I am rooting for you”, let me know if there’s anything I can do”. And many times, I played them over and over again to find my strength and some sort of assurance when the road became even longer and windy than I thought 😅

So, this post is to say thank you for being who you say you are and more. Thank you for the extent you went when you have absolutely no business doing so. Thank you my friend, former colleague and support tribe!

I had wanted to write this a long time ago but waiting for the best time but after receiving a very heartwarming voice note from my mum this afternoon and her many prayers, I took a moment to reflect once again. And I remembered vividly how you played a very crucial role. Every chance I have, I will re-light your candle again.

To a worthy support tribe!
