Today is the International day for Street Children.
Few months ago I was in Uyo for an official assignment and while at it, I did a story on street children in the town.
You will be shocked to know that many children do not have a place to call home other than the streets.
To get the true picture, I and the crew went out at night and found a spot among several others where they sleep at night.
While at it, they are harressed, abused and robbed.
Here is to celebrate incredible people like Benjamin Omin Itu and Anja Ringgren Lovén who spend their life and resources taking care of street children around Uyo and beyond and giving them a better life
