The launch of Dangote’s refinery.
It is the world’s largest single-train refinery, which will refine as much as 650,000 barrels per day. Many say it will solve Nigeria’s refining and help the federal government in its efforts to become self-sufficient and save foreign exchange used in petroleum importation
Dangote’s petroleum refinery is expected to serve the needs of consumers in Nigeria and those in neighbouring countries, while allowing for exports beyond the African continent.
And by extension will drive the promotion of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) .
Over 50 countries in the trade bloc depend on imported refined petroleum products. This is a huge win for Nigeria and the continent.
