Are we really winning the war against insecurity in Nigeria?

It’s such a privilege to be attending this high profile 3rd Meeting of the Lake Chad Basin Governors’ Forum in Younde, comprising governors from the eight states of the most affected region of Chad, Niger, Nigeria and Cameroon discussing how to strengthen regional security.

Having covered conflicts and crisis and still covering, it is obvious that the fight against insecurity is larger than we imagine.

I am strongly wondering how much of this war we are winning especially in the light of speech of our President on Independence Day when he mentioned that “we are winning the war”…
