Yes, Mafa, still remains one of the riskiest and on the Gwoza Damboa strip but there are little rays of light of stories of women and people who never cease to inspire. It’s such a privilege to tell their story.
Here are the faces of women rebuilding their community. Their resilience to stay, their resolve to make their community better again and the strength of their support for one another.
Most of them now widows and heads of their families with so many, many children to look after
